[Mediapen=Cho Han-jin] In the closing statement of SK’s Icheon Forum, Chey Tae-won, Chairman of SK stressed that innovative technologies must create social values.

In its annual forum, the Group set digital transformation(DT) and artificial intelligence(AI) as their core drivers of ‘Deep Change’ and decided to gather affiliate’s capabilities and strengths for global competitiveness.

“While creating social value utilizing innovative technologies such as AI and DT, we must also focus on customer happiness. That is the true ‘Deep Change’ pursued by SK,” said Chey.

He also emphasized that reinforcing digital technology is the key to securing SK Group’s future. The group will work on minimizing trade costs and utilizing innovate technologies to effectively deliver value to customers.

Chey announced that establishing ‘SK University’ is also in accordance with the group’s policy to nurture future talent and develop individual’s capabilities. SK University is to be launched in January.

The chairman next introduced the ‘Energy Solution’ business model that combines energy chemistry with information and communication technology. “In the changing energy business, we need to focus on innovative energy business models that can solve environmental problems and bring social values,” commented Chey.

His last words were to overcome fear and try new things to truly achieve ‘Deep Change’. He called upon the attendees to enjoy change rather than fear it.
